A great start to the season - green played fantastically well, high tea was delicious. Thanks to all who helped make the day a success First wood delivered by our president, Sharon - Spider was won by Moyra and the supreme champions of the day were Charlie Griffin, Jane Bishop and Melvin Trayhurn... Our Bowling Club is set in picturesque surroundings on the outskirts of Ottery St Mary in Devon.
The Club is thriving and has a growing membership, largely due to the very warm welcome extended to new members. Club Nights' are held most Fridays during the bowling season (6pm to 8pm) and we welcome players of all ages, whether experienced or just wanting to explore how to play... come along and try your hand. You don't need equipment, just a flat pair of shoes and a sense of humour! Please see the contact page for details
The Club has six outdoor rinks which are maintained to a very high standard, enabling us to host many county and external competitions as well as being a popular destination for touring sides.
We have a very active membership and everybody is encouraged to get involved as much or as little as they feel comfortable with, this includes:-
The clubhouse has a modern, well stocked, licenced bar that is open to members and guests and fabulous kitchen, boasting a 5* hygiene rating that caters for events and match days alike. Both of these are extensively used to support the busy social calendar. We also have a large car park that comfortably accommodates cars and coaches!

- Internal Club competitions - some of which offer the inexperienced bowler an opportunity for glory!
- Representation at Club and County level
- Regular, informal Club nights which are well attended and great fun
- Or if you prefer, just turn up and play a friendly roll up with your friends

- Several functions and themed events throughout the year - e.g. BBQ, Quiz nights, Race nights...
- Skittles and Short Mat bowling (indoor bowls as no outdoors available) during the winter months
- Coaching - we have five qualified Coaches who are generous with their time, providing tuition for beginners, as well as helping more experienced bowlers develop their game Coaches
Ottery St Mary Bowling Club is affiliated to Bowls Devon and Bowls England.

The Club takes Safeguarding very seriously and we have a fully qualified Safeguarding officer who is always on hand.
We adopt and follow all policies and guidelines approved by Bowls England alongside UK Anti-Doping Rules and all procedures set out in Bowls England regulations 9, 9A and 9B.
Our club and members will abide by all sanctions, recommendations and/or decisions from the Safeguarding Management Panel and/or National Disciplinary Panel.
